Breast friends is a self-help group based in Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands. It is run by unpaid volunteers who have all been diagnosed with breast cancer and have undergone surgery. Our aim is to help local women with breast cancer through a difficult time by offering friendship, support and practical help. If you wish to join us there are meetings at Good Hope Hospital, Sutton Coldfield at 7.30pm on the last Monday of most months. For those living in the Tamworth area there is a separate subgroup, which meets at the Sacred Heart RC Church Centre, Glascote, on the 1st Monday of each month. For younger members and mums who have been diagnosed with breast cancer and would like to chat to people in a similar situation we have the 'Pink Orchids' group. You are very welcome to come to any of our meetings, please bring along a relative or friend if you wish. Some meetings are for ladies only, ie a beauty consultant will be giving a talk or a representative from a bra and swimwear company will be speaking. Information on the content of meetings is given in our quarterly newsletter, which is sent to every member. Copies can also be downloaded here. We also have social evenings and fund-raising events which are open to everyone. You can support us through single donations, regular donations and/or through fundraising events. Donations can be made through our Just Giving website. Check out our Registered Charity No. 1059584 |
